Law Of Large Numbers Cleanses Google Bets

The do unto to others Golden Rule, when viewed through the prism of Wall Street turns out quite differently:  He who has the gold makes the rules.

And Google, with a massive cash horde, is using its riches to rewrite a few rules in its own image.  Whoever heard of a company labeling its’ investments as “Other Bets” in its SEC filings?  OMG, corporate counsel at any other company, who seem to worry about everything, including things they shouldn’t, would have a coronary. After all, using shareholder’s money to make “bets,” something not even gaming companies will admit to, sounds reckless, corrupt, arrogant, and a host of other unsavory, adjectives too long to mention.

But, alas, it’s none of those things.
